With $500 million in R&D funding, BrainCo leads the non-invasive BCI sector, while Elon Musk's Neuralink, the best-funded company in the BCI area, dominates the invasive sector. It is also the first “unicorn” in China’s BCI industry. Social Contribution
Driven by a commitment to supporting people with disabilities, BrainCo has actively partnered with local disabled persons' federations, foundations, and socially responsible enterprises to provide free smart prosthetics to eligible recipients. Since 2021, the company has participated in the Cherish Life Foundation's "Aid Program for Children with Disabilities in Need," offering assistance to impoverished children with disabilities. In parallel, BrainCo has partnered with hospitals to establish a "Limb Loss Public Welfare Program," enabling coverage for eligible applicants nationwide and providing them with BrainCo smart prosthetics at no cost. In 2023, the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission, together with the Zhejiang Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation and the Zhejiang Provincial Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation, launched the Zhejiang Science and Technology Assistance Program for People with Limb Disabilities, providing free smart prosthetics to people with limb disabilities and helping them regain mobility. In 2025, Zhejiang initiated a dedicated smart bionic prosthetics fitting program, completing a cumulative total of 2,046 smart bionic prosthetic fittings.
